Jiangsu Green Stormwater Retrofits

Jiangsu in Eastern China is encouraging redevelopment projects with green stormwater infrastructure that can improve water quality and reduce flooding. Partnering with Green Earth Operations, Dubin Environmental developed narrative and visual descriptions of different green stormwater technologies (bioretention, sidewalk retrofits, floating wetlands, helix flow reactors, etc.) in a green toolbox for city planners. Jiangsu University contracted with Green Earth Operations and Dubin Environmental to prepare the design of 13 bioretention systems and one waterfall treatment system for Jiangsu University that would be retrofit to the existing storm drainage system as part of a university landscape master plan project. The green stormwater project involved retrofit site identification and screening, SWMM modeling, bioretention sizing calculations, engineering plan and profile development and coordination with the Shanghai-based landscape architect developing the University’s master plan.
