Hanzhong New Town Hydraulic Planning and Design
Dubin Environmental has been working with Green Earth Operations and Terrain Studio for the past two years on the analysis and design of numerous surface water conveyance, hydraulic controls, and water quality treatment features for a 26 square kilometer redevelopment project in Shaanxi Province, China. Dubin Environmental led the HEC-RAS hydraulic modeling analysis used to specify water canals dimensions, water quality treatment wetland dimensions, weir configurations, culvert dimensions, gate sizes and settings, and the layout of cascading bioretention treatment systems. Dubin Environmental also assisted the landscape design team in determining waterway sections that are subject to erosive flows during large storm events. The surface water features are designed to provide a combination of flood protection, water quality benefits, aesthetic improvements, and access as a public amenity. The entire civil, hydraulic and architectural team worked collaboratively with to prepare plan sets that achieve these multiple goals. Dubin Environmental also served as technical reviewer for the implementation of the LID master plan for the community, which included the design of 4.2 km of new roadside bioretention water quality treatment systems.
